&lt;p&gt;The following three features are best read as a series.  Intended to reveal some of the issues surrounding transplant, they are about one individual&#039;s transplant experience -- and are not meant to imply that every transplant will encounter the same problems.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Happily, the person whose rocky initial transplant experiences are shared here can report that her &quot;gift of life&quot; is working beautifully a little after a year down the road.  Excellent doctors can make miracles happen.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;(P-O-P-S) Did you know that the original Thanksgiving feast is reputed to have been made up of a cornucopia of foods, some say including turkey and others say not? Deer meat and wild fowl of some sort are the only two items that historians know for sure were on the menu. Cranberry sauce, corn on the cob, and sweet potatoes definitely were not.&lt;/p&gt;
